| Rousing reception to Cooperatives Minister Manohar on arrival in Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, JULY 18–After being inducted in the Council of Ministers, Minister of State for Finance, Planning, and Industries & Commerce, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma arrived at Jammu, conducted road show and addressed a series of meetings at Vijaypur, Samba, Dingaamb and Nagrota enroute to Billawar. Thousands of his supporters and party workers gave rousing reception to the newly inducted Minister.
The people accorded warm welcome to the Minister and accompanied him in a procession amidst beating of drums and shouting slogans in favour of Dr. Sharma and Coalition government.
Addressing on the occasions, Dr. Sharma thanked the Congress High Command and JK Pardesh Congress Committee for inducting him in Council of Ministers. He said that the party has given me an opportunity to serve the people of the state. Stating, “I will work for welfare of the people and development of the state irrespective of any consideration.
The Minister, spelling out priorities said that he will ensure that the responsibility vested in him is fulfilled, adding that he will play his role in establishing permanent peace and bringing prosperity by ensuring corruption free and people friendly administration in the state.
