| Akhoon suspends Incharge CAPD | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, July 18- Minister for transport and CAPD, Mr. Qamar Ali Akhoon accompanied by Secretary Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Mr. K.B. Jandial and Director CAPD, Kashmir, Mr. Mehraj-ud-Din Keenu paid surprised visit to CAPD and FCI godowns at Lethpora and CAPD depots at Pampore and order suspension of Incharge CAPD Checkpost, Lower Munda, Tehsil Supplies Officer (TSO) and two CAPD Fair Price dealers for not maintaining the official records properly and negligence over supervision of godowns. He had also not maintaining counter foils. Akhoon also directed for calling explanation of Deputy Director CAPD, Anantnag for his casual approach towards his duties. It was found that 19 trucks of FCI were not unloaded since last 8 days. Accordingly, the Minister directed for immediate supplies to their destinations so that the people don’t suffer on account of shortage. Akhoon inspected under construction Rs. one crore godown complex with a capacity of 47, 00 metric tons at Lethpora. He directed for speeding up the pace of work so that the godown is completed within this fiscal. Later, the Minister also inspected under construction State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission office at Shaheed Gunj, Srinagar. He was informed that Rs. 18 lakh have been released for its construction till date and its completion is expected by ending September this year.
