| Khoda awards bravery medals, out-of-turn promotions to 16 | | | Early Times Report Srinagar July 18: The Director General of Police (DGP, Mr. Kuldeep Khoda, announced one more list of out-of-turn promotions in favour of sixteen police personnel of North and South Kashmir Ranges. The decision was taken in a meeting of Police Establishment Board (PEB) held to day at police Headquarters (PHQ). The promotions have been awarded in recognition of their bravery exhibited by them while fighting militancy across the State besides saving life and property of people. The PEB reviewed each case of bravery and recommended one rank promotion of these brave khaki men. Giving details, Mr. Khoda lauded the role of these personnel for maintaining excellent liaison with the public during various anti-militancy operations in different parts of the State. He said these brave personnel of Jammu and Kashmir police had played a commendable role at the stake of their lives on anti- militancy front. The DGP said that in third phase sixteen brave personnel of South and North Kashmir Ranges have been promoted out –of- turn which include six from Districts Anantnag, four from Bandipora, five from Kupwara and one from Handwara. The promoted personnel are one Head Constable promoted as Assistant Sub-Inspector, four Selections Grade Constables (SGCTs) promoted as Head Constables and eleven Constables promoted as Selection Grade Constables (SGCTs) Khoda said that performance of the officers and jawans is always monitored by the senior level officers of the Organization and those personnel would be rewarded suitably who exhibited exemplary performance while discharging their professional duties. The DGP asserted that the department will take every effort to honour human rights while fighting different situations and it has been made clear that while dealing odd situations innocent people should not be harassed. He further said that besides militancy JKP has many challenges which we have to deal with firm hand to come up the expectations and aspirations of the masses.
