| Chairman sanitation holds meets after conducting tour | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 18: An emergency meeting has been convened by Satish Sharma chairman, Public Health & Sanitation standing committee, JMC for reviewing the status of Nullahas/ Deep drains and small drains falling within the limits of JMC during monsoon season. Chairman has conducted a tour at Canal road (near science college) and found that the nallahas at Science College and Jewel chowk have been over loaded due to heavy rains which has caused lot of problems to the general public and the concerned Hon’ble councilors of the respective areas have also requested for reconstruction of nallahas and the chairman called an emergency meeting wherein the following directions have been issued to, AEE, UEED has been directed to prepare a estimate for reconstruction of nallah at Krishan Nagar, The Health Officer, JMC has been directed to get the deep drains clearing (upto 3 feet width), A tour of ward no. 19 (Jewel area) shall be conducted alongwith Commissioner JMC, chief transport officer has been directed to prepare a list of these nallah of the city which have been over-flowing during rainy reasons due to some technical faults, besides the above the concerned have also been directed to take immediate action against the encroachers who have encroached upon the nallahas on way of construction of slabs over the nallahas. He also directed the concerned to get the nallahas/ deep drains and small drains cleared during monsoon season so that people may not suffer more.
