Shastri appeals CM to regularize all daily wagers

Jammu, July 18: National Mazdoor Conference, president, Subash Shastri has appealed the chief minister Omar Abdullah to regularize the service of all daily wagers, casual labour, contractual and adhoc employees of the state govt. adding that the cabinet sub-committee constituted by the govt. for the purpose should be asked to submit its final report to the state govt. at the earliest.
Addressing a largely attended NMC workers rally here today, Shastri said that these employees and daily rated workers neither getting there wages regularly nor they had been regularizes for last many years which calls for taking immediate measures for improving their working conditions. Lauding the 6 months achievements of Omar Led Government, Shastri urged for grant all pending installments of COLA, time bound regularization of all daily wagers.
The NMC chief demanded that Srinagar and Jammu be declared as B-I cities as both capital cities fulfill the norms fixed for the purpose. He said such a provision would also enhance infrastructure development of both the capital cities.
He also urged/ Omar Abdullah to also provide all other perks and allowances which have been made available to be the centre govt. employees. He urged him to consider removal of anomalies in SRO93 to satisfy all sections of the salaried class. He demanded that the arrears on account of 6th pay commission implementation be released in two installments.
Among those who also addressed the rally included Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochar, Sham Lal Sharma, Bhupinder Singh, Kasturi Lal, Sukh Dev Singh, Surinder Kumar, Ram Lal, Sham Singh and others.
