REASI, JULY 19 -The Minister for Higher Education, Labour & Employment, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik started 3-day hectic tour of the Reasi district from today. During first leg of the tour programme, Mr. Malik visited district Reasi and convened general public grievances meetings there and assured that with the passage of time their all grievances shall be sorted out and redressed soon.
He also convened a district officers meeting at Reasi and asked the officers to observe punctuality in their respective offices by percolating the benefits of all development schemes at their door step and come up to the expectation of the general masses. He asked the officers that you have a great responsibility upon your shoulders, so use your personal experiences for the well being of the poor and down trodden people of this hilly district. He also asked them to collect important requirements of all the areas with priority works. The public demands should be on record for early redressal.
He stressed the need to take out the development works with more honesty, transparency and dedication with development works visible on ground.
The Minister also visited the Government Degree Collage, Reasi and assessed the pace of ongoing works of the science block. The Principal of the Degree Collage apprised the Minister about various problems being faced by the collage students like incomplete science block, additional accommodation for running the 5 science subjects, atlest six class rooms are urgently required etc. The Minister issued necessary instructions to the JKPCC to complete the remaining work of the science block at the earliest. He asked for construction of reception counter at the main gate. With regard to construction of additional accommodation, the Minister asked for detailed project report from the concerned JKPCC. He also went round the various sections of the Degree College and took stock of arrangements for the facilities of the students.
During public meeting at Sanyog Ghar, the Minister was accorded rousing welcome by the people of Reasi town. They also presented various demands and requested for their early redressal. He assured the general public that we have to work together unitedly to achieve the targets well in time.
Among others, the District Development Commissioner, Mr. F.C.Bhagat, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Mr. M.H.Bhatti, Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr. Anand Jain, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mr. Sukhdev Singh Sambyal, district officers of various departments, councilors, prominent citizens, large number of ladies were also present on the occasion.
