| Learning Centres Association holds meeting | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JULY 19: J&K Learning Centres Association conducted a meeting regarding declaration of 148 institutions functioning unauthorisedly in the State. In this regard the Association declared that the names of the institutes highlighted in the list are baseless and are not covered under law. Giving references of the Act, the Association cited that all these institutes are neither covered under section 17 nor under sub clause 20 of the act. They further added that the list has even included the names of tutorials and computer centres and many other institutes which are working for enhancing the skills and employmentability of the youth of the State. The Association further added that these institutes are not only generating employment within the organization but are also making people secure employment. A total of 8000-10000 people are working in these institutions and thousands of passouts from these institutes are working in big companies of national and international repute. They also added that the notice has created a lot of confusion among the student community as to how the said act is made applicable to these institutions, whereas IGNOU / DOEACC centres are also functioning without any permission from the Govt. of J&K. The association assured all the students not to bother about their education as the Association is with them to safeguard their interests and will make all possible efforts to render the best of the best available.
