| IDP to launch offensive movement to press demand | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JULY19: In Jammu& Kashmir the law & order situation is deteriorating day by day. In Kashmir valley the situation is very grim, the coalition Government has lost faith of the common masses in the credibility of the Government, not a single day goes without abuse of human rights, killing and brutatility lashed on commoners and peaceful citizens. Police brutality, killing and excesses have become the order of the day. All peace loving people and organization are shaken by the events taking place in the state. The Government has failed on all fronts, especially to restore law and order in the state, Independent Democratic Party (IDP) viewed. IDP leaders stated that it is shameful on the part of the Government that people restore to agitation for conducting a probe /enquiry into a killing, and the government head ridicule the peoples demand. After great pressure, agitation, agrees to hold enquiry. This is what happened in Shopian killing. It is for a Government to prove its credibility, protect law & order and punish the killers and their associates, bring to light the truth, and prove its credibility, honesty and fairness. IDP leaders added that a peace activist, a brave political leader, an ideologist was assassinated at Samba a year back, the government kept on promising the demand to hold enquiry in the killing, but no steps have been taken so for despite assurances’. The party adopted all peaceful means to press for their demand, but the Government has no stand on any of the public issue. The IDP in association with many other political & social organizations after peaceful Dharna, and submitting memorandums through district administration, is peacefully carrying on chain hunger strike from 11th July 2009.The Government has not taken the demand struggle seriously. Tarun Pargal Dist. Secretary IDP Samba and Vikas Mankhotra replaced Mukhtiar Singh of Plouni Sumbh and Romesh Chander of Blater Sumbh. J.A. Kazmi Sr. Advocate , National Secretary IDP, I.D. Khajuria State President; Subash Singh Advocate, Distt. President, Tilak Raj Gupta, Prof Milap Singh, Mohan Singh President Vyapar Mandal, Spoke on the occasion and condemned the administration and Government for their cavalier attitude towards the genuine public demand. The speaker threatened for launching an offensive movement if their demand is not met at the earliest
