| Panun Kashmir organizes membership drive | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 19: Panun Kashmir launches global membership drive on Sunday at Jammu with a target of 10,000; registered members will be accompanied by the associate membership drive having a target of 1,000 members in the first phase of the campaign. On this occasion, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo and Dr. Agnishekhar filled up the first two membership forms while B.S.Slathia and O.P.Sharma filled up the first two Associate Membership forms. The members of the Executive Council showed their enthusiasm by filling up the forms and vowed to achieve the target before the Annual Convention on 28th December 2009 .Programme was attended by the Executive Council members and a number of prominent personalities of the Jammu city. Dr. Agnishekhar, Convener, PK, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, PK, B.S.Slathia, former President, Jammu Bar Association, O.P.Sharma, Commandant (Retd.) BSF, Sardar Prem Singh, President, Kashmir Sikh Displaced Forum, Moheni Raina and Neelam Kaul, Chairperson and Organising Secretary respectively of the Daughters of Panun Kashmir. The programme was inaugurated with the recitation of ‘Sarswati Vandana’. B.S. Slathia, in his address, said that he was feeling pride in being associated with Panun Kashmir. It has rebelled against the policy of intolerance in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The Kashmiri Pandit community can bank upon the Dogra brethren in their fight against injustice and political marginalization. The ideals of Panun Kashmir are lofty and inspiring and we would wish that every nationalist of this state becomes a part of the movement of Panun Kashmir. Jammu would stand as a true friend of Kashmiri Pandit community always. O.P.Sharma, in his speech, declared Kashmiri Pandits as the natural friends of the people of Jammu and recalled the contribution of the community in the Amaranth agitation last year. He placed his services at the disposal of the organisation in order to take the nationalist mission of Panun Kashmir ahead. He made an appeal to the leadership of the Panun Kashmir to bring more and more leading personalities of Dogra community under the banner of Panun Kashmir and in this connection expressed his desire to take up any assignment. Dr. Agnishekhar and Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo made an appeal to the people in general and the new and old members of the Panun Kashmir in particular to renew their membership and become a part of the onward march of Panun Kashmir. The programme conducted here will be followed by a vigorous drive in other states as well in near future, they said. The overseas level membership shall also be launched in the last week of this month. The leadership of Panun Kashmir made the following appointments on the occasion, Prof. M.K.Raina as Vice President, Ravinder Punjabi as Secretary, Central Secretariat, Kuldeep Bhat as Secretary, Youth Affairs, Vijay Bhat as Secretary, Political Affairs Committee and R.L.Kaul as Secretary, Hospitality & Protocol. On the occasion 11 member highest policy making body of Panun Kashmir, the Central Committee, was also announced as Dr. Agnishekhar, Jammu, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, Jammu, Utpal Kaul, Delhi, Prof. M.L.Raina, Jammu, Kamal Hak, Noida, Ramesh Manwati, Noida, Dr. Shailja Ambardar, Vadodra, Kamal Bagati, Jammu, Sanjay Moza, Jammu, Rahul Kaul, Pune and Lalit Kaul, US,its members.
