| Vohra visits NCC cadets in Ladakh | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT LEH: JULY 19: Governor J&K N N Vohra visited Leh today and interacted with the NCC cadets participating in the ongoing All India Special Integration Camp at Leh. Addressing the cadets, Governor said, “by organizing the NCC camp in Ladakh , the cadets got a privilege to see the operations of Indian army very closely at the frontier region Ladakh, which is the India’s one of the difficult frontier.” Governor described Jammu and Kashmir as diversified and multi coloured State is itself a symbol of integration and harmony for the whole nation and holding such camp with participation of cadets from all over the country would further play a vital role to promote and strengthen nationalism and patriotism among the youth. He hoped that these cadets would play a very crucial role in India’s security, integrity , peace and harmony besides giving a political stability, which eventually contribute to the all round development of the country. Expressing his pleasure over the immense interest of girl’s cadets in joining Indian Army, the Governor hoped for good career opportunity to the girls in the armed forces to serve the nation. About two hundred NCC cadets from all parts of the country are participating in the camp which has started from July 11. Later, replying to the questions of the media person at the sideline of the camp, the Governor said “Ladakh needs special attention in developments. In the wake of high potential of development in various fields, the access and connectivity to Ladakh should be improved by opening all weather roads from Manali and tunneling at Zojila pass”. He also distributed awards to the winners of the national integration camps competition in which the Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala and Maharastra NCC cadets secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Principal Secretary to Governor B.B Vias, GOC 14 Corp Lt. Gen. S.K Singh, Deputy Director General NCC J&K Brg. Anil Gupta, Camp Commandant SNIC, Leh Col. Jaswant Singh, the Deputy Commissioner, Leh A.K Sahu, SSP, Leh Samuel and civil and army officers also attended the camp.
