| CEC Leh briefs Guv about various ongoing projects | | |

LEH: JULY 19: Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Chering Dorje called upon the Governor at Leh and presented the Action Taken Report of the decision taken during the meeting of LAHDC, Leh with the Governor, N N Vohra during his visit to Leh in September 2008. The CEC informed the Governor that as per his commitment, Leh district has received Rs 15.00 crore as additionality over the original plan allocation of Rs 50.00 crore during last year which registered nearly 100% expenditure. Chering Dorje also submitted the progress reports of other important projects like micro hydel projects at Sasoma, Bogdang, Durbuk, Kumdok, Domkhar and Hanu, filling up of vacant posts of Doctors and Engineers, Compensatory allowances to the government employees working in Ladakh, additional seats in Technical Colleges for Ladakhi students, review of Council Act, enhancement of salary of Councilors, posting of staff at polytechnic college, grant of State share of Centrally sponsored schemes, opening of Kailash pilgrim road via Ladakh and making flexible of inner line permission for the foreign tourists in Leh .
Some other issues like Geo-thermal power projects, solar power generation, Master plan of Leh town, sanitation and drainage system in Leh town, improvement of roads, progress of 45 MW Alchi project, present position of Igoo-Phey command area, pashmina development projects were once again came in the discussion during the meeting today.
Governor after going thorough each and every developmental points with relate to Leh district said that if the planning and implementation of important sectors like tourism, agriculture, rural and urban development, road and infrastructures, pashmina, education, power generation etc are going well, the per capita income of Leh district would climb at the top in the State in next 10 year. Thus he stressed the need to have a proper and time bond planning for achieving the desired target.
Principal Secretary to Governor B.B Vias and Executive Councilor Agriculture Puchok Stanzin and SSP, Leh Samuel also present in the meeting. Deputy Commissioner, Leh Ajeet Kumar Sahu also present in the meeting. Sahu briefed the Governor about the salient feature of Master Plan of Leh which is at present at final stage. He also gave information to the Governor about the progress and implementation of various projects going on in Leh.
