College teachers delegation call on Malik

Jammu, July 19: A delegation of all J&K college teachers association, Jammu wing, today met minister for higher education, Abdul Gani Malik under the presidentship of Dr. Sanjay Verma.
They submitted a memorandum to the minister regarding various problems being faced by the college teachers. They demanded introducing the post of professor in the undergraduate college as per the HRD ministry’s recommendation. They also demanded to raise the age of superannuation in favour of college teachers, as the college teachers with NET or Ph.D make a delayed entry into the profession and as such they even do not qualify for full pension benefits. The Hon’ble minister gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation that he will look into the genuine problems being faced by the college teachers and would take appropriate action.
Among other present on the occasion were Dr. Sunil Gupta, Dr. Anil Ganjoo, Prof. Narayan Dutt, Prof. Vishal Sharma, Prof. Hans Raj, Prof. Rajinder Verma, Dr. Manohar Lal, Prof. Hitesh Basotra and Prof. Rajesh Gupta.
