| PYCC demands change in state leadership | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 19: Peeved, provoked and perplexed by the sequence of events within congress and the political landscape of the trouble-torn state youth congress convened a meeting of its prominent office-bearers under the chairmanship of Raja Maroof Khan gen. secy P.Y.C., and demanded immediate change of leadership with a view to defusing the sense of uncertainty in the state party unit. As per the press release the leaders were highly critical of the fact that a father-figure in the state congress like Ch. Aslam has been unnecessarily humiliated, earlier by dropping him from the state cabinet, and then, offering him the post of Chairman, Gujjar/Bakkarwal Board. Youth leaders were also critical of the wrongful distribution of party mandates during recently assembly seats. Soz is an outsider and not well-versed with the congress culture and the party rank and file. That is why, a section of Congress leaders with long stints in the party have left it on account of the humiliation wreaked upon them. They further demanded that a dynamic, energetic and congress-rooted gentleman be put in place of Soz who has the potential to lead the party cadres throughout the three regions of the state.
