| State govt fails to implement PMGSY schemes: Harsh | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 19: MLA Hiranagar Harsh Dev Singh has strongly flayed the state government for its failure in ensuring the time bound implementation of centrally sponsored PMGSY scheme under which each village of the state was to be provided road connectivity before March 2009. He said that the J&K has earned the dubious record of being the tail ender in the implementation of the said scheme as not even 10% the village especially in Jammu region have been provided road connectivity under the scheme. He said that hundreds of schemes were tendered successively during the last one year but allotment orders were not issued to the executing agencies for months together making a mockery of the slogans of work culture, good governance and transparency. He said that the governed owed an explanation to the people of the state for depriving them of the benefits of a scheme universally made applicable for the welfare of the rural work. He said that he would not only raise the issue vehemently and vigorously inside the legislature but would also apprise the union govt. of the lapses being committed by the state govt. in implementation of welfare schemes for rural poor particularly in Jammu region.
