| Dimple demands upgradation Sarwal, Rehari police chowkies | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 19: Up-gradation of police chowkies(post) of Sarwal and Rehari into a full-fledged police station and shifting of central jail from Amphalla are the major demands which were highlighted by the president Jammu west assembly movement Sunil Dimple at a press conference here today. He said a memorandum of demands have been faxed to chief minister Omar Abdullah that the needful in this regard be done at an earliest. He said these chowkies are working for the last 40 years while areas and the population have increased many folds, and as such it is impossible to cater the needs of the area with few police personals. He said the centre jail at Amphalla be shifted to some other safer place outside the winter capital. People of the area feel unsecure as hard core terrorists and criminals are lodged these beside can create law and order problem at any time. In the conference he congratulated the new inspector general of police Ashok Gupta and said people will feel safe under the supervision of Gupta. He also demanded that brave police offices be rewarded an independence day for their job.
