Jammu, Jul 19 : A fresh batch of 1,158 pilgrims today left for Amarnath Shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas amid tight security cover, an official spokesman said.
A caravan of 42 vehicles, including 34 State Road Transport Corporation Buses, one private bus, a truck and seven LMVs left the Yatri Bhawan here at Bhagwati Nagar, the spokesman added.
The batch of pilgrims includes 176 women, 16 children and 310 sadhus, among others.
Amaranth pilgrimage started from shorter Baltal route on June 15, after a week delay from the schedule, while the traditional Pahalgam-Chandanwari route was opened for yatris on June 26.
