Interview marks mania, HC directed DC Doda to enquire matter

JAMMU, JULY-20: Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain of J&K High Court Jammu Wing in a petition alleging change of interview marks for the post of Anganwari worker has directed Deputy Commissioner Doda that he shall personally enquire the whole matter regarding the pleas raised by the petitioner and passed appropriate orders and also submit the compliance report. This significant order has been passed in a petition filed by Rubina Begum in which the petitioner alleged that besides the petitioner, four more candidates applied for the post of Anganwari Center Hamdaan Pura, as per the comparative statement of the candidates maintained by the interview board, the petitioner has informed was at the top of the merit list and she was awarded 23 marks in viva-voce and private respondents Shahnaz Banoo was awarded 21.25 marks, but subsequently when the proforma for the said Anganwari center was issued by the selection committee, the petitioner was shown to have obtained 20.25 marks in viva-voce and private respondent Shahnaz Banoo has been shown to have secured 22 marks. Aggrieved by this action of the selection committee, she filed this petition seeking appointment in the said Anganwari center.
Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain after hearing Adv A M Malik appearing for the petitioner issued notice to the state of J&K through Commissioner/Secretary Social Welfare Dept and eight others including the private respondent and observed that from the annexure placed on the file, Court find that the representation has already been filed by the petitioner before the Deputy Commissioner Doda for taking cognizance in the matter. In view of the controversy raised by the petitioner and also the pleas in the present position, the Deputy Commissioner Doda shall personally enquire into the whole matter regarding the pleas raised by the petitioner and passed appropriate orders in the matter within a period of three months and also submit the compliance report.
