DB dismissed PIL filed seeking action regarding control the forest fires

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, JULY-20: Division Bench of J&K High Court Jammu Wing dismissed a Public Interest Litigation {PIL) filed by Indian Council for Enviro-Legal Action through Advocate Ashok Sharma on the ground that this petition does not contain any particular whatsoever for the Court to take any action. The same is accordingly dismissed along with the connected CMP. In the PIL it has been prayed for issuance of direction to the respondents to control the forest fires engulfing in number of forests, division and ranges causing irreparable loss to fauna and flora, wild life and tree species in Jammu region, to adopt conventional and non-conventional methods to prevent and control forest fires as short terms measures and to formulate State Forests Policy on the pattern of national forest policy of 1988.
