| Militants strike triple blow in Srinagar | | |

One policeman was killed and 13 others, including ten cops, were wounded in three separate attacks in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday afternoon.
The police said militants shot at and critically injured a constable of the Jammu and Kashmir police identified as Farooq Ahmad in the Bohri Kadal area of downtown Srinagar.
"The constable was taken to the SMHS Hospital where he succumbed to his bullet wounds," a police officer said.
In another militant hit-and-run attack, an assistant sub-inspector of police, Abdul Gani, was injured in the Maharaj Bazar area.
"The ASI has been referred by doctors at the city's SMHS hospital for specialised treatment to the Soura Medical Institute," a senior police officer said.
Nine policemen were among eleven persons injured in a powerful hand grenade explosion in Budshah Chowk in the heart of the summer capital.
The police said militants tossed a grenade at a police party in Budshah Chowk, injuring eleven persons.
"Eight local cops, one paramilitary trooper and two civilian bystanders were injured. The injured were evacuated to hospital for treatment," the officer said.
