| Panun Kashmir questions non-territorial settlement of Kashmir issue | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 21: Coming heavily down on the utterances of those at the helm that the settlement of the issue of Jammu and Kashmir will be a non-territorial one, chairman, Panun Kashmir, Dr. Ajay Chrungoo, while addressing the media persons in Jammu said that we are forced to ask government of India what is the structure of this non territorial settlement. It is our firm belief that if India concedes anything in the areas which fall in the realm of the interests of its ideology of secular nation building and civilization then territorial integrity will be jeopardized critically. It is our firm conviction that a nation which cannot protect its national outlook and civilization interests eventually concedes its territory. He warns that accepting shared sovereignty on any part of India will only wreck the national sovereignty on that part, and further warns that facilitating the creation of ‘porous borders’ will eventually undermine the national commitment to defend the borders, he said and appeals to none- other than Prime Minister of India to set all the serious doubts which have risen about Indo-Pak process to rest and reassure the nation about the commitment of the Government of India to protect the integrity, sovereignty and ideology of Indian nation. He further said that the decision of Government of India to delink the action against terrorism from Indo-Pak dialogue has come at a time when a dangerous cocktail of militant Jihad and intfiada has emerged in Kashmir valley and Indian Sovereignty on Kashmir is being lampooned and put to ridicule with impunity. This decision has once again legitimized terrorism and perpetuation of Jihad against India. At a time when Pakistan’s outlook about India was coming under critical scanner the decision will help Pakistan to preserve its Kashmir policy to the detriment of only Indian Integrity and interests. He further said that the situation has assumed a highly demoralizing import when those at the helm in Delhi have admitted that some sort of final settlement has almost been arrived at with Pakistan. Does this so-called settlement have the concurrence of the Union Cabinet and the parliament of India? Has its contours been ever discussed and deliberated upon amongst mainstream political parties and put before the nation? and asked Isn’t it a shame that anybody and every body of consequence in Pakistan seems to be knowing about the contours of this so called settlement except the People of India. If what former president of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf has revealed, are the contours of this settlement, then it is easy to infer that India has eventually accepted a variant of Dixon formula to divide Jammu and Kashmir along the Chenab. If what is being revealed about the settlement is true then it means that those at the helm have now agreed to a dejure Muslim state or states on the territory of India. Panun Kashmir once again rejects the Dixon proposal and its variant like greater autonomy, self rule or Musharaff formula and reiterates that creation of Panun Kashmir north and east of river Jhelum with a Union Territory Status for rehabilitation of displaced Kashmir Hindus has become an imperative necessity not only for the survival of Kashmiri Hindus but also for integrity of the country, he added.
