| Court rejected bail of alleged cheater | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JULY-21: Sub-Judge Jammu VS Bhau rejected the bail application of Akhbar Ali who was arrested by the police on July 10, 2009 in offence u/s 420/467/468/471/109 RPC. Chief Prosecuting Officer Pawan Khajuria opposed the bail application on the ground that occurrence of April 13, 2009 the allegations against the accused are that he in connivance with bank manager of SBI and employees of RTO has defrauded the complainant by forging documents pertaining to vehicle and then lodged false report regarding the theft of the same vehicle and obtained insurance. CPO further said that according to the police report the investigation of the employees of RTO Jammu and lodging of false FIR as well as recovery of insurance money is warranted and investigation is in progress. Court observed that on scanning the rival contentions of both sides and police report also case dairy, prima-facie made out case against accused person’s recovery of insurance money obtained by the accused fraudulently is yet awaited and likewise investigation of employees of RTO office is to ascertain their involvement in the commission of offence is also warranted. As the investigation is at infancy stage and if accused is released out and cause of society and public interest shall be defeated, the accused may scuttle the investigation is yet to be concluded and thus the court rejected the bail plea of the accused.
