Court ordered custodial interrogation of Tarsem, Naresh

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, JULY-22: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu S S Sarangal today ordered the custodial interrogation of accused Tarsem Lal and Naresh Kumar who are involved in much publicized 550 spurious Desi Ghee Tins scam. The accused who were granted interim bail today present in the court for the extension of interim bail but PP, E A Tak filed objections and strongly opposed the bail of accused persons and submitted that the case is at the initial stage.
Principal Sessions Judge S S Sarangal after considering the facts and circumstances of the case come to the conclusion that it will be just and proper and also in the interest of the justice if the accused be handed over to the police for custodial interrogation, the accused persons namely Tarsem Lal and Naresh Kumar present in the Court are handed over to the investigating officer concerned. However, this custodial interrogation shall be subject to the provisions of remand under the Criminal Procedure Code and directed to list the case on July 25, 2009.
