SRINAGAR JULY 22: A special police officer (SPO) who was injured in Shopian grenade attack died today in SMHS Hospital. A Sub-Inspector had lost his life and three others including CRPF constable were injured in a grenade attack at Imam Sahib, Shopian on Tuesday. Identified as SPO Driver Mohd Shafi No. 53/SPO was referred from SDH Shopian to SMHS where he breathed his last.
Some unidentified militants on Tuesday afternoon lobbed a grenade on SOG Camp at Imam Sahib, Shopian, which landed and exploded resulting in injuries to three police personnel and a CRPF jawan. A police officer died last evening in hospital while another injured SPO driver succumbed to his injuries today.
