| Jammu man made BAI marketing head | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 22: General secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Badminton Association (JKBA), Dr O D Sharma has been made head of the Marketing and Sponsorship Committee of the Badminton Association of India (BAI). A decision in this regard was taken in a high level meeting of BAI held under the chairmanship of president, V K Verma. Senior most joint secretary, Dr Sharma is associated with the BAI for the last over a decade. Besides Dr O D Sharma, seven other senior people have also been allotted work as per their experience and knowledge in a move to re-allocate duties in view of ill health of BAI honorary secretary, LC Gupta. “Due to ill health of L C Gupta, honourary secretary of BAI, I have reallocated various duties with immediate effect until Mr Gupta is fit to undertake the work load,” president of the Association, V K Verma said in letter addressed to the state units and executive members. When contacted by SAN, Dr O D Sharma confirmed the action taken by the BAI. “Besides me a number of senior members of the BAI have been given the responsibilities in view of secretary’s ill health. It is a temporary arrangement until L C Gupta is ok. Moreover, the general elections of the BAI are also due to take place in February, so it is a kind stop gap arrangement,” said Dr Sharma.
