| Reasi accords historic welcome to Azad | | | REASI, SEPTEMBER 27 – Reasi accorded a historic welcome to Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad on his arrival here today to address a public function organized by Minister for Rural Development and MLA of the area Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma to celebrate creation of new district at Reasi. More than 30,000 people gave a standing ovation to Azad soon he entered the venue of the function at the huge parade ground. The atmosphere reverberated with thunderous cheers and slogans of Azad Sahib Zindabad when Chief Minister came on the dias and waved the huge gathering reciprocating their wishes and feelings. Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma, Minister for Rural Development Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma, Minister of State for Higher and Technical Education Mr Aijaz Ahmad Khan, MP Mr. Madan Lal Sharma, legislators Ch. Gharu Ram, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma and Mr. Girdhari Lal were present on the dias among other prominent local leaders. Reiterating the government’s firm commitment to lay strong edifice for achieving peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Azad called for cementing Hindu-Muslim-Sikh-Bodh and Christian unity for which the state has been a cradle since ages and his government’s vision for khushal Jammu and Kashmir constitutes strengthening of communal amity between various sections and religions, an important ingredient. “I and my colleagues have vowed to uphold the secular image of the state, further strengthen it, curb corruption, provide justice to all and fight all elements creating wedge in the society on communal or regional lines”. Chief Minister said that we have to rebuild the state and make it a model one for which not only the country but the international community would feel proud of. He said the important component of his vision for prosperous Jammu and Kashmir is also to strengthen peace and eradicate poverty and make administration accountable and transparent. He said, he wants the state to remain free from violence and destruction and the element of fear from the minds of people is removed. “We have to provide justice to the people rising above all considerations of region, religion, creed or caste”, he added. He said unemployment in the state is another factor which my government wants to tackle positively, as such, measures have been asked to be taken to create new employment avenues in the state. Chief Minister said the Common Minimum Programme of the coalition government is the basis for its performance and added that we have to work hard to implement all such programmes promised to the people during election. |
