Aijaz asks people to keep close eye on development works

DHARMARI, JULY 23 (INFO)-Minister for Haj, Auqaf and Fisheries, Mr Aijaz Ahmed Khan has asked the general public to come forward and take an active part in the implementation of development schemes in their areas.
Addressing a mammoth public gathering at Dharmari today, the Minister said that public should closely monitor the ongoing development works in their areas so that they are implemented in time and tangible development can be achieved on ground.
Stressing upon officers to speed up the development works, Mr Khan said that government will not tolerate slackness in the implementation of schemes in rural and far-flung areas where the bulk of state’s population resides. He said that general awareness needs to be created among the public regarding the schemes being run for them by centre and state governments so that maximum number of beneficiaries can avail them.
A number of people from Mahore and Gool-Arnas met the Minister and apprised him of their problems.
Mr Khan assuring to redress their genuine demands in a pahsed manner, said a number of developments works to augment basic facilities like road connectivity, drinking water, power, rural development, health etc will be taken up by government in the area. He said that every effort will be make to take development to every nook and corner of the state.
Earlier, the Minister was give a warm welcome on arrival at Dharmari. People thanked UPA Chairperson, Mrs Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, Minister for Renewable energy, Dr Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister, Mr Omar Abdullah for inducted Mr Aijaz into the cabinet.
Among others, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Mahore, Tehsildar, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry, Assistant Director Fisheries and officers of various departments, prominent people and large number of people were present on the occasion.
