| Slathia convenes Rogi Kalyan Samiti meeting | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, JULY 23 -Be ready to lend a helping hand to the patients’ was the mantra which Minister for Industry and Commerce Mr. Surjit Singh Slathia gave to the hospital administration while chairing a meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samities of Community Health Centres of Nandpur, Vijaypur, Gurha Slathia and Purmandal, here today. Chief Medical Officer, Block Medical Officer, Block Development Officer of Samba district and other senior officers of Education, Health, R&B, PDD, RDD were present in the meeting. During the meeting, the Chief Medical Officer, Ramgarh apprised the Minister about the funds allotted under NRHM and facilities being provided to ailing patients in CHC and PHC. Addressing the officers, Mr. Slathia stressed on sanitary measures within the hospitals wherein sanction was accorded to construction of Sulabh Shauchalaya, pit for Bio- Medical waste and construction of temporary dhobi ghat in CHCs and PHCs at Ramgarh and Vijaypur. For enhancing the aesthetic look of the centres, the Minister stressed upon conversion of wasteland within the hospital into park by planting shady ornamental trees under the supervision of Social Forestry and Floriculture departments. Responding to the demands, the Minister assured that ambulance service will be provided at CHC Ramagarh and PHC Vijaypur. To provide drinking water facilities to patients at CHCs and PHCs, the Minister asked the PHE authorities to ensure water connections in the hospitals. Several other significant approvals were granted regarding repair of old transverse autoclaves in O.T, purchase of life saving drugs and any treatment care and referral support to unattended inmates of Bal Ashram, Old age home and BPL patients, purchase of surgical instruments, reagents and material for pathology lab, repair, paint of furniture, buying of plumber and electrician kits, installation of water filters, provision of heating and air conditioning system in labour room. Mr. Slathia said that he wants no substandard material to be used in the construction or purchase of any kind and said that the works should be done on the fast track basis so that the general public is benefited. He exhorted upon the hospital administration to stress rendering of the available services to the needy and always remain soft to the patients.
