Mangat ridicules parroting of Musharraf’s self-rule concept
Jugal, Aijaz hail Azad’s decision of creating new districts
9/27/2006 10:10:05 PM

Reasi, September 27 – Ridiculing the propagation of General Musharraf authored self-rule concept, Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma has said that the concept floated by General Musharraf is based on animosity against India and no mainstream party should subscribe to this idea.
He said that those who are parroting and pirating self-rule concept of Musharraf are themselves describing it as local self government concept and panchayati rule. It is therefore better for them to clear the confusion forever and declare the present democratic rule enjoyed by the people of India as the best rule.
Addressing a mammoth public meeting at Reasi today, organized to thank Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad for granting district status to the area, Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma advised the political leaders to avoid parroting General Musharraf’s concept of self-rule, saying “it is a conspiracy against our country”.
He said those who have full obligation and benefit of Army and security forces need not raise the slogan of de-militarization. He said Jammu and Kashmir is enjoying the full degree of self-rule and democracy and democratic institutions flourishing here vindicate this aspect fully.
Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma said that government is taking all out efforts to accommodate the aspirations of the people of all the three regions of the state. He said creation of eight new districts, three sub-divisions and 13 tehsils created by Mr. Azad have to a greater extent covered the requirements of areas and demands of people for new administrative units.
He said government’s priority attention is to create a sound road connectivity and network to open up all villages and remote areas for economic upliftment, adding that extension and consolidation of healthcare and educational facilities also receive concentrated attention.
Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma, who had organized the public meeting to express gratitude to Chief Minister for granting district status to Reasi which was hanging fire for more than two decades, said that nobody had the courage to recognize the legitimate demand of the people.
He expressed gratitude of the people of the area to Chief Minister for his dynamism and vision, saying that the state is fortunate enough for having Mr. Azad as an able leader and patron.
Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Khan said that people of the area would get highly benefited for having district and the development works get considerable fillip. He invited the attention of Chief Minister towards people of Gool, Arnas, Thakrakote and other far-off areas for speedy development, saying that Mr. Azad has kindled a new hope in the hearts of hitherto left under-developed people who see their demands amenable under the sincere leadership of Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad.
