| HDF observes 153rd birth anniversary of Bal Gangadar Tilak | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 23: International human Development Forum(IHDF) on Thursday observed 153rd birth anniversary of an Indian nationalist, social reformer and freedom fighter Lokmanaya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. The forum in a unique style held a programme at Old Age home Amphalla to pay tributes to Bal Gangadhar Tilak. The members of IHDF, in a fine gesture cut the cakes with the old people of the home to pay their high regard to the greatest freedom fighter of the time. Speaking on the occasion National Secretary of IHDF Suresh Kumar highlighted the points related to the life of Tilak and appealed to the youth to copy his benevolent ideology for world good. He said that it was Lokmanya who gave the slogan against the British Colonial that "Swaraj is my birthright and I shall have it" awoke the Indians from deep slumber and rallied behind him to fight against the British. He said that in prevailing critical situation in the country, the people must follow the teachings of this great leader to rid the nation fromcorruption, poverty and other odds confronted to it.
