| Computer training programme inaugurated at GCW Udhampur | | |
UDHAMPUR, JULY 24 - MLA Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia inaugurated a seven day long computer training programme at Government College Women (GCW), Udhampur organized by IQAC by lighting the lamp in which teaching and non- teaching staff will be provided training in computer skills. Mr. Mankotia also inaugurated Career Counseling, Guidance and Placement Cell of the college.
In his inaugural speech, the MLA emphasized on the need of enhancing the technical skills among the staff members. He further emphasized that such programmes are very helpful to compete in this techno-savvy times to venture into different vocations. He also appreciated the efforts of the college administration in running the career counseling, guidance and placement cell which will be disseminating information regarding career options as per their aptitude and potential.
In her welcome address, the Principal said that the programme will be useful in providing basic knowledge of computer skills which has become a necessity for the people to be successful as an office worker, an administrator, a teacher, a students, businessman, an engineer.
As a step forward, the College introduced Career Counseling, Guidance and Placement Cell to guide the students about future prospects. Adding further, she said that a number of books, journals, periodicals, publications etc.which were devoted to the dissemination of career information have been procured for the benefit of students.
Programme was introduced by Dr. Arun Kumar, member, IQAC and compared by Dr. Aksa. Dr. Dinesh Jasrotia Convener, IQAC presented vote of thanks.
