| Heavily armed militants intruded into Indian side | | | Govind Chouhan

Militant outfits active in the state have intensified their activities from the past few days and a sharp increase have been witnessed in their activities. Number of infiltration bids has been made by the militants after the melting of ice. Last night also a group of heavily armed militants successfully intruded into Indian side through Trikundi sector in Rajouri District.
According to reports, a group of about 12 militants infiltrated into this side last night in Trikundi sector in Rajouri District through Naika post. Immediately after noticing their movement security forces opened fire on them. But militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness. It is believed that 2-3 militants have received injuries in the firing but there is no report of their killing. Security forces have launched a massive manhunt in the nearby areas to track down the militants. According to sources, security forces have recovered some objects including a cutter and some eatables near naika post during the patrolling in the morning. Here it is be mentioned that in a similar kind of incident, yestrday night also a group of 8-10 militants also managed their entry into this side from Balnoi sector of Rajouri disst.
According to sources, all these militants belong to Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) outfit and these militants were waiting across the other side of border to intrude into this side from past some time. Last night at around 12:30 they infiltrated into this side. This post is close to Manjakote, Gambhir Mughlan, Katashmal areas and it is believed that militants are hiding in these areas. Militants have managed their entry through this area twice in the past also and after the incident a massive search operation launched in the area to nab the militants
It is to be mentioned that militants of HM outfit are mostly active in Rajouri District. It has been noticed that there is a panic in the ranks and files of HM outfit, due to continuous loss in its strength after the intensified anti-militant operations by security forces in this area. So, in order to maintain their strength militants are infiltrating frequently into this side through this most vulnerable part and causing panic among the residents of area. |
