Early Times Report
Jammu, July 24- Justice Nirmal Singh of J&K High Court Jammu Wing today directed Managing Director J&K State Forest Corporation not to allow any official to drive vehicle who did not possess valid driving licenses. Only those employees who are possessing valid driving licenses and having been appointed as drivers in the department shall be allowed to drive vehicles and perform duties as such, the Court ordered.
This significant order was passed in a petition filed by Ghulam Mohammed Bhat in which Advocate Ajay Vaid appeared for the petitioner and submitted that thirty-eight drivers in J&K Forest Corporation are without any work. They are not allowed to drive the vehicles. He further submitted that Managing Director J&K State Forest Corporation is allowing cleaners and mechanics, who are not having driving licenses to drive the vehicles and resulting in accidents. Upon this High Court issued notice to the respondents for filing objections within four weeks. JNF
