Sogam, July 24 - Rich tributes were paid to former Minister and member of the Constituent Assembly, late Ghulam Nabi Wani (Sogami) on his 28th death anniversary. A large number of people offered Fateha khwani and flowers at the ancestral graveyard of the late leader here today.
Later, thousands of people thronged Sogam from various parts of Kupwara district and attended a simple but impressive function, organized in the memory of the late leader, who has contributed immensely towards development of this remote area.
MLA, Handwara and senior Vice-President, NC, Ch. Mohammad Ramzan, MLA, Langate, Abdul Rashid, Provincial President, NC, Ali Mohammad Dar and former MLC, Nasir Khan were also present.
The speakers on the occasion said that the late leader had been instrumental in changing the socio-economic profile of the far-flung area
