| Akhoon reviews arrangements for Mehraj-ul-Alam | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, July 24 -Minister for Transport and CADP Qamar Ali Akhoon today visited Hazratbal shrine to take stock of the arrangements made to facilitate the devotees on the auspicious occasion of following Friday Mehraj-ul-Alam. During the visit, the Minister inspected stalls installed by various departments and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by Health, SRTC, PWD, Power, PHE, CA&PD and Fire & Emergency Services and other departments. The Minister also chaired a meeting of officers and directed them to work in a synergized manner so that the devotees do not face any inconvenience. He was apprised that SRTC has pressed into service sufficient number of buses from various destinations for carrying devotees. Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura has established 10-bedded temporary medical camp in the Shrine premises for providing 24 hours healthcare to the devotees and examined over 900 patients. The CA&PD has setup camps near the shrine and Nigeen area for the facility of devotees. He directed the PHE department to press tanker into service to meet the potable water needs on the occasion. Earlier, the Minister paid obeisance at the Shrine and prayed for peace, prosperity and welfare of the state.
