| Central University | | Batwal community hails CM’s statement | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 25: The J&K Batwal community welfare association at its meeting under the presidentship of ex. MLA, Sat Paul Lakhotra, welcomed the statement of chief minister Omar Abdullah requesting the centre govt. to sanction two central universities one each at Jammu and Srinagar as his government is committed to do justice to all areas and carry forward its agenda of equitable development with determination and zest. As per press release association ask chief minister that till one more central university is not sanctioned by the centre, the move on shifting the central university from Jammu to Srinagar, and the process of making appointments of ministerial/ secretarial staff etc thereof, be kept in abeyance. Association also appealed the chief minister to take back the proposal of banning the inter district reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs of J&K keeping in view the problem of unemployment in these communities. Earlier, the association members paid rich tributes to association Mahila Wing activist Tarapati (who died after prolong illness) and prayed to the almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
