| Court rejects bail of 3 accused allegedly involved in pension scam | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 25: Sub Judge Jammu VS Bhou today rejected bail application Jeet Raj, Falail Singh and Jaswant Singh, who are allegedly involved in Social Welfare disability and old age pension scam. In the police report it has been submitted that the allegation against the accused are that they had prepared fake seal of Director Social Welfare Department and used to prepare fake disability certificate, State Subject and used to draw pension given to disabled and old age persons from the Social Welfare Department, thereby causing loss to the public exchequer. Recovery of fake stamps forms and certificates have been affected and investigation so far conducted revealed loss of Rs. 30 lakhs to the Government exchequer and investigation is in progress. Sub-Judge, after hearing Advocates ML Sharma, Parveen Pandoh, Ashok Sharma appearing for the petitioners and CPO Pawan Khajuria with Senior Prosecuting Officer Rajesh Bakshi appearing for the state, observed that the evidence so far collected by the Investigating Officer and the police CD file, commission of offence u/s 420/467/468/471 RPC are prima-facie made out against the accused persons. Recovery of fake stamps, fake certificates, forms etc, pin points the guilt of the accused and involvement of even the official of the social welfare department for the alleged offence cannot be ruled out for which thorough investigation is necessitated, as per the submissions of prosecution. With these observations Court dismissed the bail petition filed by the accused
