Kathua, July 25-The arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations were discussed at a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, D.R. Sharma.
Commandant 23-BN CRPF Pukh Raj Jaipaul, Principal Police Training School, Sardar Khan, District Officers, Executive Engineers of PWD(R&B) PDD, PHE, Principal of Government/ private educational institutions attended the meeting.
It was decided in the meeting that as usual the main function will be held at District Police Lines, Kathua where the VIP will hoist the National Flag and take salute at the march past. The contingents will be drawn from CFPF, District Police, Forest protection force, NCC boys and girls and tiny platoons from Government/ Private schools.
The day will start with the plying of Shahnai Vadan by Information Department in the wee hours.
Regarding other arrangements like security, sanitation, sitting barricading, water and Power supply, prize distribution, issuance of invitation cards, transportation and illumination, the ADC directed the concerned officers to ensure adequate and proper arrangements well in time.
It was decided that the important Government buildings will be illuminated by Municipal Council, Kathua on the occasion.
