| Doda, Kishtwar to get atta instead of wheat | | | Srinagar, September 27 - Three sectors of Jammu division including Doda-Kishtwar, National highway and Udhampur-Reasi excluding dumping areas would be supplied atta instead of wheat owing to limited milling capacity in these areas. This was disclosed by Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Mr. Taj Mohi-u-Din while chairing a meeting of officers held to review the distribution of Wheat among millers for grinding in Jammu region. The meeting was informed that Flour stocks for Doda-Kishtwar sector will directly be supplied from Jammu instead of Udhampur and after grinding be transported to different areas of the sector by Food Corporation of India as per standing rates. This would be done in view of limited milling capacity available in Udhampur. It was observed in the meeting that Wheat costing crores of Rupees remain with millers against which government has no guarantee in case these millers become defaulters. It was decided that those interested to sign a contract in this regard will make a consortium for grinding of Wheat in their mills and for that purpose they will have to deposit FDR amounting 50% of the cost of the Wheat. The Director CA&PD Jammu was asked to notify the rates of grinding and inform the millers to deposit the required FDR and NOC’s from electric and CA&PD departments and to clear outstanding balance against them. The Minister instructed the officers to complete the whole process by first week of October so that supply of Wheat to the millers is ensured well in time. Among others, the meeting was attended by Secretary CA&PD, Director CA&PD Jammu, Financial Advisor CA&PD Jammu, Additional Director Planning SRM (FCI) and Chief Accounts Officer CA&PD Jammu. In yet another officers meeting held to review a supply of non lave K-Oil in the state, the Minister took strong note of non seriousness of the representatives of Oil Corporation of India (OIC) who are creating obstacles in the process of supply of non lave K-Oil to the state. The Minister directed the OCI representatives to release the quota before 30th of this month. About the shortage of storage capacity, the Minister directed the officers to check the storage capacity of the dealers in Srinagar and to cancel licenses of the dealers who are found with insufficient storage capacity.
