| Rationees to get rations before 15th of every month; Akhoon | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, July 26- Underscoring the need for proper distribution of rations to the consumers of the state, the Minister for CADP and Transport, Qamar Ali Akhoon has said that several measures are on anvil to streamline the functioning of CAPD. He said a monitoring cell is being set up at Lower Munda where the quality of the food grains would be checked and no pilferage of food grains be allowed from this check post to downs of the valley. This was stated by the Minister during his surprise inspection today at various food go downs and sales out lets of department in South Kashmir. The Minister visited food go- down of Food Corporation of India at Mir Bazar and took stock of the stocking position of essential commodities. He impressed upon the concerned authorities to ensure supply of food grains to remote and hilly areas of the state, especially Gurez, Karnah, Keran, Padder, Warwan and other such areas which remain open for few months due to heavy snowfall. He said any lapse in this regard from the concerned authorities shall not be tolerated and directed the concerned authorities that each rationee should get his ration from the nearest sale out let before 15th of every month. He directed for displaying of rate lists of food grains in front of sale centers and also instructed the supervisory staff to ensure daily basis checking of sale centers of their jurisdiction and ensuring that every rationee gets his ration well in time. The Minister on spot directed for the suspension of B.A. Itoo Tehsil Supply Officer Qazigund for dereliction of duty.
