| Saroori asks NBCC to complete projects in time, follow guidelines strictly | | | Early Times Report Srinagar July 26- While reviewing the pace of progress of the projects taken up by NBCC, the Minister for R&B, G.M.Saroori has asked the executing agency to speed up the work and ensure timely completion of the all the eight projects taken up in Srinagar city. No new projects should be taken up till the on going ones are completed, the Minister directed. No new projects should be taken up till the existing one are fully completed he directed. It was given out in the meeting that work on 23 projects taken up by ERA coming up at a cost of Rs.445 crores is in full swing. Rupees 230 crores stand expended on these projects so far. The meeting was told that 80 projects taken up in Ist and 2nd phase of PMGSY by Rural Engineering Wing (REW) at a cost of Rs. 73 crore have been completed and work on another 22 projects was apace. The Minister impressed upon the engineers to follow strictly guidelines of the projects and ensure their timely completion. He asked the engineers of the REW to get the technical sanction of those projects which need revision of estimates. He asked all the line departments to maintain close coordination with each other to avoid un-necessary delay in the work.
