| Ban on inter-district recruitments suicidal for SC/STs, Rajwal | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JULY 27: To discuss the burning issue of imposition of ban on inter-district recruitments the Bharatiya Janata Party Anusuchit Jaati Morcha in a meeting held here today warned the NC-Congress government not to take any such decision which directly harms the interests of SCs and STs in the state. The meeting presided over by the Morcha State President Narsingh Dass Rajwal was attended by the senior leaders of the party. While addressing the meeting Rajwal said that the present NC-Congress coalition government in the state is giving step motherly treatment to the members of the SC, ST and OBC communities and are making efforts to debar them from applying for jobs in Kashmir by banning inter-district recruitments in the state. Rajwal said referring the matter to Select Committee by the government is a deliberate attempt to debar SC and ST candidates from getting themselves recruited in various districts of Kashmir and is designed by some elements in the government who want to play Kashmir-centric politics and discourage the Jammu based students to apply for posts reserved for them in valley. He said it is even against the spirit of the Constitution and various judgments passed by the High Court and the Supreme Court of the country. The meeting which lasted for three hours unanimously resolved to get united against the move of the government. It also warned the NC-Congress coalition not to take any such decision which directly harms the interests of SCs and STs in the state. Prominent among those who attended the meeting included Bansi Lal Bharti, Balbir Ram, Chaman Lal Kanathia, Surinder Bhagat, Ashok Gandhi, Adarsh Bhagat, Sakina Bano, Sharda Devi, Balwan Singh, Puran Bhagat, Shiv Lal Manyal, Chain Ram and Daleep Kumar.
