| JKNPP’s Parliament March, Prof Singh and others arrested in New Delhi | | | Agencies New Delhi July 27 Prof Bhim Singh and other senior leaders were arrested in front of the Parliament today by the Delhi Police while they were marching in protest towards Parliament demanding dismissal of NC-Congress government in Jammu and Kashmir and restoration of security of the Panthers Party leaders. Party spokesperson said that the prominent among those who were detained today included, Farooq Ahmed Dar (Provincial President, Kashmir), Mohd Yusuf Ganai (Vice President), Mohd Maqbool Malik (Provincial Secretary, Kashmir), Manzoor Ahmed Wani (President Distt. Kulgam), Jehangir Khan (President Distt Kupwara), Ali Mohd. Dar (President Distt Baramullah), Abdul Rashid Ganai (President Distt Gandherbal), Mehboob Illahi (Secretary, Press & Publication, Kashmir), Dr Iqbal Wani (Provincial General Secretary, Kashmir), and Abdul Gani Dar (President Distt Anantnag). Meanwhile a memorandum on behalf of Panthers Party leaders and district presidents Kashmir province was submitted this morning by Party leaders namely Mohd Yusuf Ganai, Vice President, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Provincial President, Kashmir and Maqbool Malik, Provincial Secretary Kashmir to the Prime Minister of India urging the Prime Minister for his immediate intervention to liberate the people of Jammu and Kashmir from the corrupt, criminal and non-functional government and for restoration of security of the Panthers Party office bearers in Kashmir including the district presidents who have been fighting against militancy and corrupt government to win the confidence of the people of Kashmir. The demands highlighted through this memorandum were: redressal of highly discriminatory and revengeful attitude of the Jammu and Kashmir Government against the activists of the JKNPP, security withdrawal of Panthers Party leader by state govt,. The party spokesperson also added the Panthers Party district presidents and other senior office bearers are courting arrest in front of the Parliament today and tomorrow we shall give a call from the Lal Chowk for the return of democracy and rule of law in Jammu and Kashmir.
