| Government oblivious to the magnitude of unemployment-PDP | | | Early times Report Srinagar, July 27: Protests by the unemployed asking for jobs, has become almost a routine affair in the Jammu and Kashmir but the government seems oblivious to the magnitude of the problem, said PDP Youth Wing President Bashir Assad. Addressing a meeting of youth workers at Kulgam today, Assad said, there are innumerable cases where employees, particularly the daily rated workers and casual labors haven’t been given salaries for months together the state government is busy in distracting the common people. Demanding social security in the mode of monthly stipend for the educated unemployed Assad said the NC had promised stipend to unemployment youths and made it a main issue in the election manifesto but after polls it had sidelined it. Expressing solidarity with the striking Rehbar-i-Ziraat stipendaries, seeking regularization after having put in more than two years of engagement in the Agriculture Production Department.
