| Physical education must to develop healthy youth : Chib | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar: July 27- A high level officers meeting of Youth Services and Sports was held here today under the chairmanship of Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Technical Education and Medical Education, Mr. R.S.Chib .The meeting was covened to discuss the implementation of newly introduced Central scheme ‘Panchayat Yuva Krida Khel Abhiyan (PYKKA) aimed at development of sports infrastructure in rural and urban areas of the state.
The meeting was among others attended by Commissioner/Secretary, Higher and Technical Education, Mr. N.K. Verma, Director Youth Services and Sports, Mr. Shafiq Ahmed Raina, Addl. Secretary Sports, Ms. Reva, Joint Director, Administration, G.M.Dar and JD, Planning, Mr. Ishfaq Pakshwal.
Addressing the meeting Mr. Chib said that the matter in this regard shall be taken up during a Conference, being held on 3rd August,09 at New Delhi under the chairmanship of Union Minister for Sports and Youth Services. He said Union government will be requested to give special assistance to Jammu and Kashmir in sports sector, in view of its tough topography and poor economic status.
Mr. Chib directed the officers of sports department to work with zeal and dedication to bring revolution in the department so that youth- the backbone of healthy society would be enriched with sophisticated physical education training for sound body and healthy mind.
