| JMC raids encroachers, huge recovery recorded | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 28: While continuing the anti encroachment drive the enforcement wing led by the chief enforcement officers under the supervision of joint commissioner (A), carried out drive and removed encroachments made by the shopkeepers by keeping the goods/ articles in front of their shops by encroaching upon payments, footpaths etc from Hari Market, Gumat Bazar city chowk, Parade, Moti Bazar and Panjthirthi areas. During the drive three mini trucks loads of material like counters, benches, umbrellas, chappal, lady purses, tarpal, sign boards, mosquito nets, frames etc. were seized. Six no’s of reheries were also seized found with out licences. There after the team headed by health officer alongwith inspectors, sanitary inspectors and other subordinate staff visited to Kanji house, Bikram Chowk, Shiva Market Railway road, Channi Himmat Malik Market, Narwal and transport Nagar areas to take stock of situation conditions and to check the quality of food items of the areas and challaned 9 cases. Lifted 6 samples of ghee of different brands, destroyed 5 kgs of stale cooked food items, 30 kg of unwholesome ice cream and 200 gm of uncovered bakery items under the provision PFA Act 1954. 19 cases were also challaned under the provisions of J&K Municipal Corporation Act and Rs 600/- were realized as fine from the defaulters on spot. While continuing the drive against the use of polythene bags the team seize about 70 kg of polythene carry bags from the shopkeepers and Rehariwaas and other outlets.
