| Course on media management commences | | |
Udhampur, Jul 27:
Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur is conducting a seven days training programme for police personnel on the topic of “Media management viz a viz VVIP/VIP Security” here.
The programme was inaugurated by AD Outdoor Abdul Gani. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the training programme is being conducted for better orientation of police personnel while conducting the VVIP and VIP programmes where media persons are also present. He said that during past some years, media has expanded immensely and the role of security personnel has become not only to protect the VIP but also coordinate with medias persons.
Senior advocates AK Sawhney delivered the lecture on ‘Freedom of Speech and expressions is not unlimited’ and ‘Act 19 1-A of Indian Constitution’ while Advocate Randeep Singh delivered a lecture on Mobile media.
Senior journalist and incharge News Doordarshan Sanjit Khajuria apprised the security personnel on the topic of Media hegemony viz a viz VIP security. Senior journalist Ajaat Jamwal apprised the trainees about ‘Different Types of Media’ while photojournalist JP Bandral gave an introduction of technicalties and different types of equipment used by media persons.
The participants discussed the occupational hazards with journalists and sought media’s cooperation for the smooth conduct of their duties. They said that the prime job assigned to them is securing the lives of the VIPs and sometimes mediapersons have to bear with some difficulties during the coverage.
The course Coordinator Ahwani Kumar ably conducted the programme under the guidance of Director SKPA, IGP Naveen Aggarwal, IPS.
