| SC/ST confederation protests, submits memorandum | | |

JAMMU, JULY 28: All India Confederation of SC/ST Organizations staged massive protest against select committee report for proposing banning inter-district recruitment. Earlier, on Tuesday large number of members of the community assembled in-front of Exhibition Ground and started chanting slogans in favour of their legitimate demands which include providing roaster point seniority to SC/ST/OBC employees in promotions and implementation of Mandal Commission Report in toto by providing 27% reservation to OBCs. Later, protestors marched towards to Divisional Commissioners office to submit the memorandum full of demands for Chief Minister for early addressing of the issues.
While addressing protestors’ president R. K Kalsotra urged upon the CM to continue with inter-district recruitment policy or formulate to provide the reservation to reserved categories according to their population in the district. He appealed CM for implementation of Mandal Commission Report in toto to help the deprived community. He further appealed the members of legislative assembly to not support the passing of bill in the house.
