Latifee leads police public interaction at Ramban

Ramban, July 29- A Police-Public darbar was held yesterday in Ramban to strengthen the trust between the police and general public.
SP, Ramban, Mubassar Latifee and other senior police officers and prominent citizens were present on this occasion.
While addressing the gathering, the SP assured the audience that all the problems of the people would be given a patient hearing and taken up with the concerned higher authorities. He assured the citizens of Ramban that every possible effort will be made to curb the menace of drug abuse, selling of illicit liquor, eve teasing and other social crimes which are directly linked with society with their active cooperation.
He further said holding such interactions with general masses help to address genuine grievances and problems of people besides, strengthening police-public relations.
Lauding the role of J&K Police in fighting militancy and protecting the life and property of the people at the cost of their lives, the SP said that due to changing scenario, the jawans of police department have to change their style of functioning and deal with needy more humanely.
Earlier, the senior citizens including Retd SSP Haneef Bhat and Abdul Aziz Kotch and others put forth their problems like repair of the rope bridge, connecting Matira with Ramban, extension of patrolling to Maltra, augmentation of water supply schemes, encroachments, eve-teasing, disruption of power supply. They also assured the SP of their full cooperation in maintaining aw and order in the district.
