| Omar Abdullah, The champion of morality in politics | | | By HITAISHI
Wording in the resignation letter issue by Omar Abdullah Chief Minister J&K State “I want to keep my concise clear and donot want to carry this stigma on my mind because I have always believed that politics should be clean and based on high standards of morality……” reflects his mind set which has been hailed with appreciations by Vichar Kranti Manch International- a socio spiritual voluntary organization. Even though union Home minister lost no time to clarify that his name did not figure in the list of Sex- Scandal accused persons. This is a shining example not only in the annals of politics of J&K State but entire India that only a politician of high caliber & excellent frame work of morality and ethics can demonstrate courage to tender resignation from the most coveted high office of CM. We are reminded of late Lal Bahadur Shastri who as the union railway Minister resigned on the incident of Railways accident taking the onus on himself. Before and after Shastri, No body took such bold and drastic step despite numerous railways accidents even of greater magnitudes. No body forced Shastri ji to resign, nor the constitution could become a compelling force. This is only the morality and ethical values which flow in the blood vessels of such noble rare personalities in the history that pious impulses dictate not to compromise with principles and high ideals of personal character. For such noble souls possessed with elements of sacrifice & seat of power is secondary and principle of Jatha Raja tatha Praja 1st priotory. Ram did not spare even his wife Sita to prove innocence when a most ordinary citizen raised an accusing finger on her character. He was driven by only one and one consideration of morality and ethics in politics. In foreign countries like Japan, USA, UK etc Prime Minister and other high ups take minutes / hours to voluntary step down unlike India where counter parts take years and manipulate courts to linger on the decision. Since Court and CBI are exploited to promote their interests.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah advised and consoled his son Omar Abdullah not to be emotional in dealing with clever Politicians with vested interest especially the onslaughts from the opposition camps who have overtedly or covertedly have visible and hidden agenda. However this doesn’t encourage honesty and morality to the practiced in politics by the rulers as it proves a stumbling block for these days politicians. Omar was advised by the so called well-wishers relatives, kith and kins & political leaders and comrades to be beware of miscreant politician’s game plan of toppling the govt. by incriminating the authorities by implicating with false, fabricated allegations. It may be out of Father’s Moh / Attachment for his son or love for him. Nonetheless, all this is out of ulterior motives of mostly tainted knee deeped involved in corruption and other undesirable activities, aimed at earning his pleasure, blessings and goodwill that could be used for their personal gains in future.
Opposition parties have spared no time and not missed the opportunity by dubbing the episode of Omar’s resignation merely as a drama. But any sensible person understands that he did out of his inner voice / soul which can not be palatable to the these day’s politicians who are shame proof and insensitive to the criticism by others about their misdeeds. A section of politicians including his father, sycophants persuaded Mr. Omar to make his unconditional resignation into conditional one. This amply confirms that raw politicians especially who reign the govt., like a new born baby who looses his innocence with passage of every day because of Filthy atmosphere created through wrongs of his parents, elders, relatives etc. or a new entrant into govt. service or for that matter in politics is a kin to a clean slate/ a blank paper who goes on learning all misdeeds like corruption, nepotism, favoutism, shirking from work, and responsibility etc displayed by his seniors through their behavior and attitudes. So unfortunately as a raw politician, a raw CM succumbed to ill advice of his so called sympathizers simply to further their personal or political interests to change/ dilute his stand on resignation and not to be emotional in politics. This is silly to think that politicians and administrators should be devoid of emotions and sentiments. Any body bereft of sentiments and emotions which generate from heart is a dead body and useless for the society. It is only devils brain which motivate not to bother about even true and most serious charges and induces for manipulative and maneavourvilty tactics to escape from charges, retain and continue the high office
