| Agri-graduates continue strike, demand permanent employment | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, July 30 Rehbar-e-Zirat(ReZ) agriculture graduates continued their agitation in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir today demanding regularisation of their service. Demanding regularisation of their service, the agri-graduates alleged that the state government forced them to take to the streets. " When those working under Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) were being regularised after completing five years in service, why the government is discriminating us", the protestors sitting on a sit-on dharna at Partap Park near here saidand added that they will will continue their agitation till they get justice. Meanwhile, appealing to striking graduates to suspend their agitation, Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Hassan Mir has reportedly assured to find ways and means to create employment avenues for them. Mir said the government is seriously considering a scheme for absorption of agriculture technocrats. The matter has been also taken up with the Chief Minister and Finance Minister to work out lasting solution to the problem, he added. Mir also said 3300 agriculture graduates were working in the department at the rate of Rs 1500 per month as stipend. However, he said there is no policy on the pattern of Rehbar-e- Taleem in the department. He also informed that the ReZ are being paid a stipend of Rs 5 crore annually.
